This week’s newsletter is coming to you from…… New Zealand!
After around 6 months away travelling for training and racing around the world, we are back home. And oh, it is so nice to be home!
We had a great trip away and I feel very fortunate to be able to travel the world and race the best in the world as a job. But nothing compares to little ol’ NZ.
It has been a bit of a busy time personally after getting back, we had a trip down to Martinborough for a conference for Nick’s work a couple days after getting back from Europe. And then after we arrived back from that, we had to move from our upstairs of our house because we have started long awaited renovations.
On the training front, I have been easing my way back in after the break after Nice. The first week I got back I did just 13.5hours total (this included the time in Martinborough) and felt pretty rubbish from jetlag for a few days. Followed by 20hours the next week, bringing in some short sharp efforts as we start to prepare for 70.3 training. I’m feeling surprisingly mentally fresh and motivated for this time of year, so I’m excited to get stuck into the work for the last two races.

Things that have been piquing my interest lately:
1. Everything Kona and the men’s IRONMAN world champs. It’s happening this weekend and I am oh so excited to follow along. In particular, I have been watching Lionel Sanders vlogs, which are always an entertaining watch. And then just following our kiwi (and Aussie’s) pro’s on social media. Wishing our kiwi pro men, Braden, Mike and Ben a great race, along with all our age groupers lining up.
If there is anyone reading this who is racing, please message me to make sure I have you on my watch list!
2. I recently finished a book by Liane Moriarty called Husbands Secrets. I really enjoyed it (couldn’t put it down), and so now I’m not a mission to find more of her books.
Highly recommend!
3. If you haven’t listened to the Peter Attia with Tadej Pogacar podcast, its quite a good short listen. Especially interesting when you know power numbers and can compare his ginormous numbers to your own :)
I’m stoked to report TriKai has updated their range! Salt Stick and Untapped are now available to buy directly here in NZ.
I’m especially excited for Salt Stick, I used their products last year in Kona which worked well for me so that’s coming in my next order in time for summer. Don’t forget to stock up for the NZ summer of racing coming up soon!

Till next time, thanks for following along!
